“Water Ways” is a celebration of the delicious beauty of the wet world. Moving, shaking, twisting and reflecting, many of these images of fountains in Los Angeles show small reservoirs that have since been allowed to dry. Vestiges of the drought’s rare rainwater are what is new in the public square.
A self-taught artist born in New York City, Catherine Roberts Leach focuses on incongruity, urban light and shadow, and the juxtaposition of nature and built environments. Her fine art photography has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in galleries across the United States. Her images have been published in numerous print and online literary publications, and at the request of Yoko Ono, on the cover page of her website, imaginepeace.com, in 2008. Ms. Leach’s photographs are digitally captured, but the content is never manipulated.
