Dearest readers,

In this 8th edition of Up the Staircase, our featured artist is a little different than what we have done in the past. We are featuring an extremely talented photographer, Dmitry Mishin from Moscow. His photographs are highly emotive, passionate, and convey a keen sense of style and precision. We are so very fortunate to know him here at Up the Staircase, and very delighted to feature his photographs here. Each photo used in the graphics of this issue was taken by Dmitry. He deserves a widespread audience, and that is why we have chosen to spotlight him.

We also have 2 new sections to offer, a place to display the editor's favorite reads, and a new contest.  We are looking for a cover for our next issue. Details are inside.
