Thank you for your interest, and we hope to have the chance to read your work.

Please read Up the Staircase before you submit.  This will give you an idea if we are the right magazine for you to submit to, as well as an idea of the quality of work we are seeking.  

-Simultaneous submissions are accepted, just let us know if a piece has been accepted elsewhere ASAP!

-You may submit only ONCE per quarter.  If we reject you, please wait until the next submission period before you submit again.  

-We are not prudish in regards to content; we enjoy shock, vulgarity and decadence.

-We try to respond to all writers in 4 weeks or less.  If your submission has been with us for more than a month and you have not had a response, please drop us a line.  

-Please note that we cannot currently pay our writers for the work we accept.

We are looking for unique poems with rich imagery and depth of thought.  Put "Poetry Submission" in the subject line along with the name you wish to be published under. Send your poems in the body of the email, no attachments will be accepted! Please send a brief bio (50 words or less) so that we (and our readers) can learn a little about you. We hold the right to shorten unnecessarily long bios.

Fiction should be compelling, surprising, and thoughtful.  Put "Fiction/Prose Submission" in the subject line along with the name you wish to be published under. Send your fiction in the body of the email, no attachments will be accepted! Send a brief bio (50 words or less).  Keep all fiction to 5000 words or less.
