Fake History by Jeff Bagato
Artist Statement
"The text in Fake History was drawn from my poem "A Better Cannibal," part of a series of texts based on various lost civilizations around the world. Under the current US regime, it seems important to examine the fragility of languages, cultures and nations. The imagery is taken from a video documentary about the Battle of Britain, during World War II. The footage was heavily processed through a chain of hardware effects units, including a circuit bent device, to give it that sense of history and memory degraded through time."
A multi-media artist living near Washington, DC, Jeff Bagato produces poetry and prose as well as electronic music, and glitch video.
