Divagation from Louise Gluck by Rodney Nelson

This is the moment when you see again
the red berries of the mountain ash
 and in the dark sky
 the birds’ night migrations.

I am seeing again the red
seed head of rowan and almost
the birds’ migration in the night

Rodney Nelson's poetry has been in journals for a long time. See his entry in the Poets & Writers directory: http://www.pw.org/content/rodney_nelson He has worked as a book and copy editor, living mainly on the West Coast; but he returned to his native Dakotas at the beginning of the century.
